Nothing’s easier than being sad

Most humans strive to find happiness outside themselves, believing that they will achieve happiness through successes, events, moments of fulfillment, and external circumstances. However, happiness is a state of inner peace, calm and satisfaction that do not depend solely on the environment. So much so that a person can be happy, even in a hostile environment, thanks to the mobilization of his internal resources.

Lamentably, those who link their happiness with foreign circumstances such as their peers (family, partner or children), chance, a favorable economy and a prosperous life, professional success, or factors commonly associated with luck are mistaken. Nothing further from reality: happiness is an option and a personal decision. If, as Seneca said, “nothing is easier than being sad”, we can now infer that nothing is more difficult than being happy without an appropriate state of mind that acts as a precursor of the desired happiness. In ourselves there is the power to decide whether we choose happiness or not.

Happiness is contagious: happy people give off energy that builds and transforms their environment. Unfortunately, sadness also spreads

In addition, contrary to popular belief, happiness is not sought. Rather we could say that it is found, since it comes from our reality of each moment. They’re not wrong those who think that happiness is a flower of a day (ephemeral), fragile, ethereal and unreachable in its fullness. However, daily work, with the right focus, provides the dose of happiness needed to get by in life. Paradoxically, the school provides instruction, socialization, etc., but it does not educate us to be happy, which is, above all, an attitude. Happy people are because they knew how to interpret, filter or live their existential experiences in positive code.

Although happiness is an inner and autonomous attitude, labor relations have a paramount weight. It is not the same to work in jungle organizations (harmful leadership) than to have a leader committed to excellence, who sees the happiness of the employee (human capital) as valuable as his own, striving to achieve a virtuous circle of constant motivation, which is what marks the difference between the mediocre and the excellent, the labor survival or the well-being. Happiness is enjoyed in the goal, but also along the way. Hence the aim is to enjoy the day to day with passion. Happiness is contagious: happy people give off energy that builds and transforms their environment. Unfortunately, sadness also spreads.

Nothing asks for less effort than being sad (or burned) these days. The merit is not to be burn; that is, to preserve an optimism (positive vision) incombustible and impervious to our own circumstances. To be happy we have to work hard. So the first thing is to put aside laziness.
